World Basketball News: French basketball player Evan Fournier says his team still needs a lot of improvements ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. France still has many holes in its game.
As the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 draws ever closer, France are among the favorites to go far. Even if he is superior, Evan Fournier himself does not want to take the big head. He said that from the several test matches that had been made, France’s game was still not very mature. There is some homework to do before the actual tournament takes place.
“To be honest, we still have a lot of work to do. However, we can still improve as the tournament goes on. I think we are still improving,” Fournier said in an interview with local media.
In the real tournament later, France will be joined in the group from hell, namely Group H. They will face three equally strong rivals, namely Canada, Lebanon and Latvia. Canada itself has deep team strength with a number of NBA players (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dillon Brooks and many more). Although Latvia are not bolstered by Kristaps Porzingis, they still have a solid roster of players. Likewise, Lebanon is one of the strongest countries in Asia. France must not relax if they want to go far in this World Cup.
