2023 Canadian Open results: Ahsan/Hendra stopped in quarter-finals, Indonesia without title
In the game held at the Markin MacpHail Centre, Calgary, Canada, Saturday (8/7/2023) WIB morning, Ahsan/Hendra struggled from the start of the first game. The Taiwanese pair, Lee/Wang, managed to win 4-0 and continued to widen the gap to 10-5.
Although Ahsan/Hendra tried to close the points gap, Lee/Wang were able to maintain their advantage. The Daddies, nickname of Ahsan/Hendra, came close 16-17, but the Taiwanese pair stayed strong and eventually won the opener 21-17.
The second match started with an advantage for Lee/Wang, who managed to lead 4-0 and 6-1. Although Ahsan / Hendra tried to catch up, the Taiwanese pair remained dominant and widened the gap to 14-8. The Daddies struggled to catch up and the game ended 21-13 for Lee/Wang.
With this result, Ahsan / Hendra had to accept failure to qualify for the semi-finals of the Canadian Open 2023. The Taiwanese pair, Lee / Wang, will continue their fight in the last four against the Danish pair, Kim Astrup /Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.
Even though they lost, Ahsan/Hendra were still appreciated for their play in this tournament. They will continue to train and prepare for the next competition. This loss also left Indonesia without a title at the 2023 Canadian Open as Ahsan/Hendra were the only representatives to participate in this event.
