Anthem Sports & Entertainment has entered into an agreement to acquire Canadian independent broadcaster Hollywood Suites.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the four Hollywood Suite linear networks and on-demand services join Game TV, Game+, Fight Network and AXS TV. Anthem also operates cable movie channel HDNet Movies and owns film distributor Gravitas Ventures.
Launched in 2011, Hollywood Suite bills itself as “Canada’s largest pure-play movie service,” reaching more than 10 million homes through providers such as Rogers, Bell and Prime Video. The network includes HS70, HS80, HS90 and HS00, all of which feature films from the same decade. Also equipped with such a sword, destroy And Blumhouse Horror Compendiumand, somewhat surprisingly, Mr. Bates and the Post Office.
David Kines, president and co-founder of Hollywood Suite, will continue to manage the business following the closing of the transaction. The deal still requires approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.
