Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple’s business fell throughout 2022. This was acknowledged by Apple CEO Tim Cook when announcing its business performance in February 2023.
“The difficult situation has kept Appe’s revenue down 5% year-over-year (YoY),” he told analysts, as quoted by The Motley Fool, Saturday (5/20/ 2023).
Even so, Cook boasted that his income in several countries had increased. One of them is in Indonesia.
“We set revenue records in several countries, including Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Brazil and India,” he said.
In the period ending December 2022, Apple pocketed US$117.2 billion in revenue.
In terms of iPhone sales, Cook said there is a longer wait for the two new series, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Both had experienced a “shortage” at the height of the holiday shopping season.
Supply issues, combined with increased consumer caution about spending amid an uncertain economy, led to an 8% drop in iPhone revenue.
“Currently, production is back to normal. However, difficult macroeconomic factors, the war in Eastern Europe and the pandemic have also impacted Apple’s business,” Cook said.
The Mac notebook lineup was also down 29%.
Apple’s revenue in China fell 7.3% to $23.9 billion. In Japan, the tech giant also saw its revenue drop 5% to $6.8 billion. Overall in Asia Pacific, Apple’s revenue also fell 2.8% to $9.5 billion.
