Besides Russia’s brutal war on Ukraine, at the G20 summit in Bali, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also discussed issues such as food insecurity and global inflation exacerbated by Moscow’s invasion. Then there is the issue of climate change.
“I also take this opportunity to announce the elements of a new Indo-Pacific strategy. The Indo-Pacific, including Indonesia where we are today, is an area of enormous potential – enormous potential for the Canadian economy in collaboration with the private sector.”
“Canada now ranks 2nd in the world in the battery supply chain. It’s proof that fighting climate change and creating good, sustainable jobs go hand in hand.
Prime Minister Trudeau also praised Indonesia for the success of the G20 presidency.
“I want to thank Indonesia for hosting this G20 summit at a very difficult time. Look what we are talking about here and what it means for Canadians and people around the world. Biodiversity, climate change, inflation and, of course, war Russia.”
“Global challenges require global solutions, and organizations like the G20 serving our citizens are essential. Canada will continue to uphold its values and create more opportunities for people. We will continue our work in the Indo-Pacific tomorrow at APEC, and we will continue to focus on partnerships that will create more good jobs for Canadians and more opportunities for our company. »
