“I’m really sorry this happened,” Alexandrova said after the game.

Now the Canadian national is sharing the latest information on the treatment she has received since sustaining her injury and admits she is still waiting to hear the full extent of her damage.

“I woke up with support on my legs. Does anyone know what happened?” Andreescu wrote via Twitter.

“To be honest this is the worst pain I have ever felt, praying it’s nothing serious. Still awaiting official test results. Thank you all for your support and words of encouragement , nothing goes unnoticed.”

The Canada international’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time as she appears to be starting to regain her full fitness after a tough spell since winning the 2019 US Open.

He even had to be sidelined for a while to try and get back to his best form and it looks like he’s found a winning formula with some good performances in Miami.
