Blessing AI Necklace made from megalodon teeth found in the wreck of the Titanic

A lost necklace made from the teeth of a megalodon shark has been found in the wreckage of the Titanic, 111 years after the iconic ship sank. The discovery came after Guernsey-based company Magellan used a pair of submarines to produce the first full-size digital scan of the wrecked luxury liner.

The project was the largest underwater scan in history, producing over 700,000 images from all angles, creating an accurate 3D reconstruction.

In one of the images, we see a turquoise and gold necklace with the teeth of Megalodon, an extinct species of shark, and the largest shark that ever lived. However, due to a pre-existing agreement, artifacts were not allowed to be removed from the ruins.

The company now hopes the AI-based technology can help identify owners and locate family members. They used AI and facial recognition to monitor footage of passengers boarding the ship in hopes of catching a glimpse of the jewelry worn by their owners. There were 2,200 people on board when it struck an iceberg and sank Independent.

The discovery was “incredible, beautiful and stunning,” Magellan CEO Richard Parkinson said in a statement. He added that the find was extraordinary given the size of the wreckage site.

“What is not widely understood is that the Titanic was in two parts and there was a three square mile area of debris between the bow and stern. The team mapped these fields so very detailed, so we were able to select those details,” he added.

Notably, the luxury liner sank after colliding with an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York in April 1912, killing more than 1,500 people. The wreck has been explored extensively since its discovery in 1985 some 650 kilometers (400 miles) off the coast of Canada, but cameras have never been able to capture the entire vessel.
