TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM – Yesterday, December 7, 2022, Newspaper Campus (SKK) “Identity” Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Makassar, at the age of 48.
SKK “Identity” was published on December 7, 1974, as an 8-page tabloid. Sometimes “Identity” published 16 pages.
This means that “Identity” has served and served the university community of the Unhas campus for 47 years. During their lifetime, the caregivers and readers of SKK “Identity” have gained a lot of experience and knowledge.
At the beginning of the SKK program “Identity”, a number of campus newspapers were also published on other campuses such as: “Integrity” at the Bandung Institute of Technology, “Salemba” at the University from Indonesia in Jakarta, “Tri Darma at Tri Sakti University in Jakarta.
Only SKK “Identity” can maintain its existence so far.
The British say that experience makes us sadder and wiser (“sader and wiser”).
This means that the experience makes us more realistic and sadder, as we realize that the problems and challenges are not as simple as we thought.
This realism and sadness can lead to despair or cynical attitudes. But on the contrary, this experience can make us wiser and more mature.
The campus press is a social institution and a subsystem of the overall system of the university community on campus.
According to the Canadian sociologist Mc.Luhan, “newspapers are the existence of society by communicating”.
As a community existence, the campus newspaper has an inherent function in the community system of the campus, where the press operates.
This function is generally referred to as the information and entertainment function.
