Canada bus crash injures 50, allegedly from heavy snow: Okezone News

CANADA – More than 50 people wounded In bus accident long distance within the province of British Columbia, Canada.

The incident happened near the town of Merritt, when the temperature dropped to -3.9C on Saturday (24/12/2022).




British Columbia’s Interior Health Authority has issued code orange, which designates disaster or mass casualty response services.

It is unclear what caused the accident, which happened about 220 miles (360 km) from the provincial capital, Victoria.

Fifty-three people were taken to hospital after the incident. Their condition has not been disclosed by local health authorities.

Prime Minister (PM) David Eby said he was shocked and saddened to hear of the incident.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by the accident, their loved ones, first responders and health workers who are giving everything to care for people and keep them safe,” he said.

A special weather statement issued at 4:24 p.m. (12:24 p.m. GMT) on Saturday 12/24/2022 warned of severe travel conditions in the Okanagan Connector due to heavy snowfall, hail and freezing snow.

All train services between Canada’s two largest cities, Toronto and Montreal, have been canceled for Christmas Day after trains derailed due to bad weather.
