Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the Queen was a good leader and compassionate to her people, so her country was deeply saddened,
In honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s dedication over the past seven decades, Trudeau has decided that next Monday will be a day of mourning. This coincided with a state funeral ceremony to be celebrated by the British Empire.
“On September 19, Canadians across the country will pay tribute to Canada’s oldest ruler, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” he said. Reuters Wednesday (14/9).
Trudeau vacations are for federal government employees only. This means that it does not include employers or employees from other jurisdictions in Canada.
Ministers from the states of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador also declared that next Monday was only a one-time holiday.
According to Canada’s Labor Minister, Seamus O’Regan, private sector employers are encouraged to give workers a day off, but they are not required to do so.
Meanwhile, Ontario Minister of State Doug Ford will celebrate the day of mourning, but schools will remain open so students can learn about Queen Elizabeth’s contribution to the people of Ontario, of Canada and the Commonwealth as a whole.
Since 1982, Canada has been a member of the Commonwealth of which the Queen of England is the Head of State.
