Canadian Bakery Factory in Tabanan Burns, Three Fire Units Deployed

The Canadian bakery located on Jalan Tukad Yeh Ho, Banjar Jadi Desa, Banjar Anyar Village, Kediri District, Tabanan caught fire on Friday (1/3) at around 1:30 p.m. WITA. The fire broke out in the oven where the bread was baked due to the negligence of the workers.

Information gathered from the police indicates that on Friday afternoon, a worker at the Canadian bakery factory named I Putu Cita Sentana Putra, 26, was going to make bread, because there was a mistake while placing the bread and it fell into the fire.

As a result, the fire grew and the bakery owner, Kadek Ariani, contacted the Tabanan District Government Fire Department. As the fire was quite large, three fire trucks were deployed and managed to extinguish the fire after 30 minutes.

Kediri Police Chief Commissioner Ni Luh Komang Sri Subakti confirmed the incident. Three fire engines were deployed to prevent the fire from spreading to the bakery building.

“According to the results of the investigation at the incident site, the mistake was made by the factory workers,” he said.

However, the factory owner did not report the incident to the police and signed a statement describing the incident as an accident.

“The loss due to the furnace fire is around IDR 5 million,” he said.
