Inuit names may sound foreign, people may be more familiar with Eskimo names. However, if you are around them, never address them with Eskimo names, as they consider this to be insulting and racist.

The word “Eskimo” itself would have been given by the French or the Danes and would mean “meat eater”. Instead, you can call them Inuit names that mean “People.”
The Inuit tribe, or what outsiders call the Eskimos, is one of the native tribes of the North Pole that still survives today.
