jpnn.comJAKARTA – The World Basketball Federation (FIBA) has divided the countries that qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
Indonesia, which will co-host Japan and the Philippines, will host the Canadian basketball team at this major world basketball tournament.
On the FIBA website, the world basketball federation places Canada to play in Jakarta the group stage of the FIBA World Cup 2023.
“Canada will compete in Indonesia and play two group stage matches in Jakarta,” FIBA’s announcement read.
Canada is a basketball team filled with competitive NBA basketball players such as Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC Thunder), Andrew Wiggins (Golden State Warriors), Kelly Olynyk (Utah Jazz), Chris Boucher (Toronto Raptors), to RJ Barrett (New York Knicks).
In the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifying Round, Nate Bjorkgren’s side qualified through the Group E stage to be in first place.
It was recorded that Kelly Olynyk cum suis was undefeated in the group stage having won 10 times.
It has been noted that Canada were not so dominant in the last edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 held in Shanghai, China.
