As seen in the Presidential Secretariat YouTube upload, Justin Trudeau reportedly landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Tuesday (05/09/2023).
He was seen exiting the plane with his son, Xavier Trudeau. Both flashed a smile as they exited the Canadian government’s Airbus A310 plane.
Along with Justin’s arrival, the acting governor of Banten Al-Muktabar was also seen welcoming his arrival.
As a remark, Canada became one of the non-ASEAN countries that also became a guest on the agenda of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
In addition to Canada, several other ASEAN partner countries were also present, namely Russia, India, the United States, Japan, Australia, China and South Korea.
It is known that some of the heads of state who attended the ASEAN summit include the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Macros Jr. and the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah. Then the Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
In addition, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Taur Matan Ruak also attended the 2023 ASEAN Summit, with observer status.
However, this time, two countries were also absent from the ASEAN summit. Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan O-Cha was absent due to the election. However, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Don Pramudwinai was also present.
