Sports League – Premier League News: Manchester City owners have reportedly announced plans to expand their global footprint overseas by investing in five business areas in the North American region.
City Football Group (CFG) has formed a new partnership with Goal Soccer Centers to create and operate high-quality playing and training facilities in the United States and Canada.
CFG is already present in America with New York City FC, which participates in the Major League Soccer competition. As in New York and Manchester, CFG also has a club in Australia, namely Melbourne City, then in Uruguay, namely Club Atletico Torque and in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos.
“The best way for people to fall in love with football is to participate in it. “There are a large number of footballers in the United States and Canada, of all ages, and a facility like the one we have and the one we are going to build will certainly be a great help,” explained CFG CEO Ferran Soriano.
“At CFG, we will bring our expertise in professional gaming to help Americans play and improve the sport they love,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, in other news, Manchester City’s transfer total this summer has reportedly managed to beat the transfer total that once stood as the world’s biggest transfer record in a single transfer window when Real Madrid did it in 2009 by splashing out a whopping £221.5 million.
As is known, so far Pep Guardiola’s side have spent £221.7million after successfully signing Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Douglas Luiz in recent weeks.
