Charles Leclerc qualifies Ferrari far behind its rivals

F1 News: Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc admits his team are still far behind their rivals. It took a lot of effort for Ferrari to match the level of other big teams like Aston Martin, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.

At the last race of the Canadian GP, Charles Leclerc looked really overwhelmed with being able to push his bike at nimble speed. Thanks to Leclerc’s best efforts, he could only finish fourth overall. This result is not bad, but he still has a long way to go to be competitive against Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen. Leclerc himself admits that Ferrari’s speed is still lagging behind and needs to be improved as soon as possible.

“We did a good job today (at the Canadian GP). The good feeling I had in the endurance race on Friday carried over into the race. And we were competitive on both compounds of tires. We can take a lot of positives from Canada. But it’s also clear that we still don’t have the ability to be at the top again,” Leclerc said in an interview with local media.

For the next series, the race will be held at the Austrian GP. Leclerc and Ferrari still have about 2 weeks to make improvements before competing there. Leclerc certainly wants to get better results and hopes Ferrari doesn’t run on the spot. Leclerc still wants to steal at least one win this season.
