Canadian health authorities reported the first human case of this type of virus on Wednesday (11/04/2020). swine flu rare, namely H1N2. The cases were detected in the western province of Alberta in mid-October.
“This is the only case of influenza reported in Alberta so far this flu season,” the statement said, quoted on the South China Morning Post’s website on Thursday (11/05/2020).
The statement explained that the unnamed patient had mild flu-like symptoms. However, shortly after being examined, the patient made a rapid recovery.
Local health officials said there was no increased risk of transmission to residents near the area where the virus was detected.
Since 2005, there have been only 27 cases of infected people. H1N2 in this world. This virus is different from the H1N1 that is usually found in humans.
According to local health authorities, this virus cannot be transmitted to humans through the consumption of meat or products containing pork. It is a rare type of influenza in humans.
“This is a rare type of influenza in humans. It is usually contracted through exposure to infected pigs and does not spread easily from human to human,” explained Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Theresa Tam, via her Twitter account.
