Esports News: Dignitas (DIG) officially presented the roster for the 2023 LCS season on Tuesday (12/20). They are the last team to confirm their squad ahead of the 2023 LCS Spring Split starting January 26, 2023.
DIG’s 2023 LCS roster includes Armut (top laner), Santorini (jungler), Jensen (mid laner), Spawn (AD Carry), and IgNar (support). Armut as a newcomer to the LEC joins his colleagues who are mostly ‘old faces’ in the LCS.
Spawn, a homegrown player, will be enjoying his first full year in the LCS after being replaced by Neo in the 2022 Summer Split. The Canadian AD carrier is also the team’s only returning member.
Meanwhile, Santorini is Jensen’s teammate on Team Liquid in 2021 and IgNar on FlyQuest in 2020. With the FlyQuest 2020 roster, Santorini has had success making back-to-back finals and they are also brilliant at Worlds 2020 as runner-up top seed in North America.
James Baker, chief executive of Dignitas, has contributed significant funds to make this 2023 list. Hiring high-profile figures is also a form of change for an organization that has been the subject of many community jokes in recent years.
Since returning to the LCS in 2020, DIG has indeed put in a lot of effort. This included signing players of the caliber of Huni and River, but to no avail.
“I’m sick of losing,” James Baker said in DIG’s 2023 LCS roster video announcement, as quoted by Dot Esports.
While very compelling on paper, according to Dot Esports, the possibility of Dignitas’ new roster will take time to materialize. Similarly, a proven combination of rookie AD carry and veteran support should give fans a North American flair to seek out in DIG’s bot lane.
