Ex-Barca player talks about Ansu Fati’s conditions

Spanish League News: Former Barcelona player Bojan Krkic sympathizes with Ansu Fati’s injury. He admitted he never felt like a talented young player.

The La Roja international has seen the last two and a half years of his career marred by lingering injuries, since November 2020. The club confirmed another injury for the 20-year-old over the weekend, due to a problem knee, with his first team unclear, as Barcelona chase the First La Liga title since 2019.

The Barcelona medical team worked hard with Fati to try and find the root cause of his lingering injuries, but he continued to struggle to maintain consistent fitness after his meteoric rise as a teenager.

Bojan Krkic followed a similar path to Fati, emerging through La Masia academy as a highly rated goalscorer, before injury ruined his career as he took a nomadic journey through Italy, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Canada and Japan. The 32-year-old is currently single, having left Vissel Kobe at the start of 2023, and he has been negative about Fati.

“I experienced first hand what happened to him. There is a big difference in treatment between the confidence generated at the beginning, when things are going well, and when something goes wrong because of an injury or for another reason. Players are treated as a product,” he said.

“You go from a person to a character. At 17, I had to measure myself against the ‘new Messi’ label. You have to learn to let go and to be aware of the limits, to accept them,” he said. he adds.
