Tennis News: Felix Auger Aliassime hasn’t had the best season so far in the 2023 season, but he’s very inspired by Carlos Alcaraz’s success.
Alcaraz was not well known three seasons ago, certainly not as well as the Canadian. However, the Spanish tennis player not only topped the Canadian national but also topped the entire ATP tournament by becoming the number 1 tennis player in the world and winning two Grand Slam titles.
It shows how fast tennis can change and in three seasons we could see a new world number 1 who is not Alcaraz. The Spaniard is certainly special and that’s why the world No. 12 sees the Spaniard’s success as something that motivates him to train harder and achieve what the Spaniard has already achieved.
The Canadian tennis player hasn’t had a positive season so far in terms of confidence building and has suffered numerous injuries. But he hopes another North American season on the hard courts will eventually see him back to his best. Desire and the spirit of competition still burned in his heart.
“It awakens my competitive side. I also allow myself to speak to the other players of the tournament. We don’t want to let him win every tournament. It motivates me to do the right thing,” said Auger Aliassime.
To get there, the world number 12 must finally forget the problems he has been through in recent months. He felt really good because he felt physically fit. When he feels good physically, he feels he is one of the best tennis players in the world.
“Some things are getting better. I went to Wimbledon thinking it would last and I would be fine. Unfortunately, I felt ill towards the middle of the match. I did what I had to do to heal myself. Currently my knee is fine. I am back on the court and I am ready to fight against the best tennis players,” Auger Aliassime admitted.
