Fernando Alonso talks about the slow start of the Canadian GP

F1 News: Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso has spoken about his slow reaction to the start of the Canadian GP yesterday. He admitted he still doesn’t know why he could lose Lewis Hamilton’s answer

Starting in second position, Fernando Alonso was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton at the start. Alonso’s slower reaction was successfully exploited by Hamilton. Fortunately, Alonso managed to get up in the middle of the race and take his second position from the hands of the British rider. After the race, Alonso said he was surprised because he could react so slowly.

“I still don’t know what happened at the start. My reaction is still quite good. I have to check (what happened). I don’t know if the riders on the other side of the grid have got off to a good start (or not). Maybe it was because of the wrong side on the grid,” Alonso said in an interview with local media.

Alonso has indeed become one of the dark horses who has appeared quite regularly this season. Even if he is 41 years old, Alonso accumulates many podiums. A goal he must then achieve in the future is to steal the win. So far, Alonso has been diligent on the podium but has never won at all. It would be an interesting scenario if Alonso manages to beat Verstappen and get on the highest podium of the next series.
