TIMEINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Bali United Training Center in Purnama Beach, Gianyar Regency is the choice of several teams participating in the U-17 World Cup as their training base ahead of the final round to be held from November 10 to December 2, 2024.
Bali United CEO Yabes Tanuri explained that four countries have reserved places. These are the United States, Mexico, Japan and Canada.
Poland actually also chose the Island of the Gods as its training base. However, they did not use the Bali United club ground.
Yabes added that the club’s training ground, nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu, was chosen because it has comprehensive facilities, including three football fields and fitness facilities.
“Currently, the management of Serdadu Tridatu is preparing for the maintenance of the grass,” he said, Wednesday (10/25/2023), as quoted by Antara.
For information, Indonesia is hosting the U-17 World Cup which will be held in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo and Surabaya.
The draw for the group divisions of the 24 participants in the 2023 U-17 World Cup took place in Zurich, Switzerland on September 15. Indonesia is in Group A with Ecuador, Panama and Morocco.
Meanwhile, Group B includes Spain, Canada, Mali and Uzbekistan. Next, Group C consists of Brazil, Iran, New Caledonia and England.
Group D is made up of Japan, Poland, Argentina and Senegal, Group E is made up of France, Burkina Faso, South Korea and the United States, Group F is made up of Mexico, Germany, Venezuela and New Zealand.
The Indonesian team started its first match on November 10 against the Ecuador team in Gelora Bung Tomo, Surabaya. The U-17 World Cup final is set to take place at the Manahan Stadium in Solo.
