France places Canada in quarter-finals of Paris 2024 Olympics

World Basketball News: France managed to create a surprise by participating in the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The team coached by Vincent Collet managed to beat Canada with a final score of 82-73.

Playing in front of a crowd, France immediately played offensively and aggressively from the first minute. Their precise shooting and solid defense made it difficult for Canada to score points. France itself, with its rather polished play, was up 19 points. Canada, who did not want to lose, tried to get back up in the second half of the game, but their efforts did not bear fruit. In the end, it was France who managed to satisfy the fans present in the arena.

It was Guerschon Yabusele and Isaia Cordinier who emerged as the winning heroes in this important match of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Yabusele proved his class as a tough player by scoring 22 points. This score was enough to make Guerschon Yabusele the top scorer. Not wanting to be left behind by Yabusele, Cordinier was also productive with 20 additional points.

On the Canadian side, only two of their players managed to score double digits. The two players in question were Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and RJ Barrett. SGA as the NBA MVP finalist in the 2023-2024 season managed to score 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Meanwhile, RJ Barrett, Canada’s main forward, also added 16 points. With this loss, Canada’s hopes of winning a medal in Paris were dashed.
