Esports News: G2 Esports and Team Liquid have successfully won their respective BLAST Premier Global Finals Semi-Finals to face off in the Grand Finals.
The semi-final match of the last great Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2022 took place on Saturday (17/8), in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. G2 picked up a sweep victory over FaZe Clan 2-0 and Liquid rallied for a 2-1 win over OG.
G2 Esports defeated FaZe 16-14 at Nuke, then overcame an 11-4 disadvantage at Inferno to win 16-13. G2 is led by Bosnian Serb “hunter-” Nemanja Kovac with 54 kills and a plus-19 K/D difference.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid, after losing to OG in Overpass 16-12, responded with a 16-10 win at Inferno and a 16-7 decision at Anubis. American Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski has the most wins (60) for Liquid, while Canadian EliGE and Keith “NAF” Markovic each have K/D ratios of plus-13.
G2 Esports and Team Liquid will face off in the BLAST Premier World Final Series Best of Three (BO3) Grand Finals on Sunday (12/18). The winner will pocket $500,000 and the runner-up will take home $250,000.
According to Sportsnaut, FaZe Clan and OG, who qualified directly for the semi-finals of the $1 million event as the group stage winners, won $85,000 each.
