The German and Canadian national basketball teams have managed to qualify for the semi-finals FIBA World Cup 2023. This confirmation was obtained after both teams won the quarter-final match of the FIBA World Cup 2023 on Wednesday (6/9).
Germany secured their qualification to the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup 2023 after a dramatic victory over Latvia in the quarterfinals held at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Wednesday (6/9) afternoon.
Germany beat Latvia with a narrow score of 81-79. The Germany-Latvia match was a close one.
In the first quarter, Germany trailed Latvia 13-16. Then, in the second quarter, Germany managed to score 23 points, while Latvia only managed 18.
Germany regained the lead in the third quarter by scoring another 26 points, although Latvia also scored no fewer points, with 25 points.
In the fourth quarter, Latvia managed to score 20 points, while Germany added 19. Germany also won 81-79 against Latvia.
The victory allows Germany to qualify for the semi-finals of the FIBA World Cup 2023. In the semi-finals of the FIBA World Cup 2023, Germany will meet the United States on Friday (8/9).
Meanwhile, Canada successfully defeated Slovenia with a score of 100-89 in the quarterfinal match of the FIBA World Cup 2023 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Wednesday (6/9) evening.
The Canada vs Slovenia game was also close with not too big a point difference in each quarter. Canada led 26-24 in the first quarter.
Slovenia then took a 26-24 lead in the second quarter. Canada still led 30-21 and 20-18 in the third and fourth quarters.
Canada also secured a 100-89 victory over Slovenia and advanced to the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup 2023.
