Google Maps launches immersive display feature in Canada

JAKARTA – In February last year, Google launched the Immersive View feature to preview locations in photorealistic 3D mode. The feature combines Street View images and aerial images.

Google is committed to delivering a realistic multidimensional experience in Maps, but the feature is limited in some countries. Therefore, they are expanding the Immersive View feature to five major cities in Canada.

The five cities are Montreal, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton. Starting Thursday, July 11, residents of these five cities will be able to virtually explore the locations of their choice through the immersive view.

With this feature, they can determine interesting vacation spots to visit. Not only does it see the location display in 3D, but Immersive View will adjust the location display based on the time set by the user.

“With the time slider, you can also see how busy a location is at different times of the day so you can plan ahead,” Google said in its official statement.

To use this feature, users simply need to open the Maps app on their Android device. After that, search for the place you want to visit in the five cities and look for the Immersive View preview button.

This button is located in search results with a small camera icon. Once the button is pressed, users can explore their location by panning or zooming the screen, changing the time and weather temperature.
