Gus Imin reminds government to focus on national food security

Jakarta – Vice-president Legislative body (Baleg) DPR RI, Achmad Baidowi said the revision of the village law would impact all the villagers, not just the village chief. With proper funding, Baleg DPR RI stressed that he would be in favor of the development of the village, so that the economic, educational and infrastructural aspects of the village can develop.

“I hope. Not the welfare of the village chief, but really the welfare of the people. Thus, the use of village funds is also used for the development of the village and also for the improvement of the quality of human resources (HR) in the village. /2023).

He explained that in the implementation of this village bill over the past 10 years, a lot needed to be assessed. One of them is related to social vulnerability. As for the lower level, namely the use of village funds and development in the village. “Then we took the initiative to revise it,” added the man often referred to as Gus Awiek.

Not only that, Baidowi also mentioned the tenure of the village chief. By organizing two electoral periods, the stability of the election of the village chief (Pilkades) can be maintained. Pilkades himself, he says, often creates social friction. Therefore, by shortening the election period, he hopes social friction can be avoided.

If there are more periods, he continued, according to him there will be many impacts. Therefore, with this, the DPR RI will anticipate this problem by minimizing social frictions on the ground by reducing the number of mandates.

“The total cumulative term of office has not actually changed in (the draft) law. The term of office is 1 term of 6 years, maximum 3 terms. This means that 6 times 3 equals 18. Only the periodization is changed, shortening or reducing, reducing the number of electoral challenges. In the new revision (UU) that we propose is 9 years 1 period, a maximum of 2 periods. This means that 9 times equals 18”, has said the politician from the United Development Party faction.

He also felt that only two elections would be considered more stable than three elections. Moreover, the election of the village chief was a simultaneous election of the village chief.

Gus Awiek hopes that this bill will truly ensure the welfare of the people and use village funds for village development and improving the quality of human resources. In addition, the village budget will be increased to 20% of the TKDD (Transfer to Village Fund) funds.

“Yes, this is proof that we want to side with village development. So that the village community can be better. Economically, educationally, and also the infrastructure is also better,” he concluded.
