TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Vanessa Hudgens turns out to be a fan of clay masks to take care of her beauty. The 34-year-old actress includes her favorite product in her beauty line, Know Beauty, which has been relaunched with a slightly different concept.
In an interview with People, the High School Musical star said he had struggled with acne and thought clay mask it is a solution.
“I’ve never found one that I’m obsessed with because I’ve always found it too dry,” she says. “I have very oily and sensitive skin, and I couldn’t find the right one,” she says.
To restart beauty brand it is marked by the addition of the Glacial Bay Clay Mask product as a mainstay. He thinks this mask is different from other clay masks that are widely distributed.
Hudgens says she has to look to Mother Nature for inspiration, looking for natural, mineral-rich, skin-nourishing ingredients. The main ingredient in this mask is Canadian colloidal clay, which Hudgens says is harvested from active glaciers.
“There are a ton of active minerals,” he adds. “A lot of things live there, which I love.”
She formulated this ingredient with Mary Berry, CEO and Founder of Cosmos Labs to create a cruelty-free, vegan clay mask that shouldn’t dry out skin, but does help hydrate and deliver spa-like benefits.
To achieve this, Hudgens added cucumber to the mix, along with giant kelp and lactic acid. The clay mask has a light and refreshing scent and will give your day a zen moment.
“I really wanted something that would fit right into my skincare regimen and really help with the problem,” she says of the product.
Hudgens launched KNOW Beauty in 2021 with friend and business partner Madison Beer. Their concept is for highly personalized skincare, and customers must submit a DNA sample to get a skin-friendly formulation. Unfortunately for Hudgens and Beer, the brand was less successful.
Instead of continuing to fail, they closed the brand to shop around and figure out what to do again. Beer eventually gave up control, as he had other responsibilities with his music and books at the time.
It was then that Hudgens partnered with Berry to design brands and products that felt authentic to his lifestyle. If it wasn’t a product she wanted on her dresser, she wouldn’t sell it.
“I really enjoy the process,” Vanessa Hudgens says of all the trial and error that went into making her clay mask. “My messy mind is greatly stimulated by this, and luckily my business partners have enough mental clarity to be able to take it all and turn it into an actual product.”
