The declaration, named “Bletchley Park”, was signed at a meeting in England on November 2.
It was stated that members were committed to using AI for the benefit of many parties in an inclusive manner and would conduct in-depth studies on the potential and impact of AI systems.
“The Bletchley Park Declaration addresses the opportunities, risks and need for international action on advanced AI, the systems that pose the most urgent and dangerous risks,” tweeted British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak via the X platform.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar at a meeting in the UK said India views AI through the prism of openness , security, trust and responsibility.
“India sees AI as a huge opportunity. Our thoughts are very clear on mitigating what AI and emerging technologies can and will represent,” Chandrasekhar said.
The statement is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s years-long push that India wants technology and innovation for the common good of all humanity to be driven by a coalition of countries, not a coalition of ‘States.
