Indonesia and Thailand are guaranteed to qualify for the quarter-finals Sudirman Cup 2023 after winning the second match, Tuesday (16/5). Both teams are still battling for the championship spot in Group B.
This certainty was achieved after Indonesia’s victory over Germany. Until this news was published, Indonesia was winning 3-1 over Germany.
Indonesia managed to pick up three wins thanks to mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Jonatan Christie and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. While Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin lost in game four.
This result allowed Indonesia to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2023 Sudirman Cup with Thailand from Group B. Thailand was certain to qualify after temporarily winning 3-1 against Canada.
Indonesia and Thailand’s success in qualifying for the 2023 Sudirman Cup quarter-finals was as expected given that both teams are the strongest teams in Group B.
Moreover, Indonesia and Thailand will only have to compete for the status of Group B winners of the 2023 Sudirman Cup. The two teams will meet at the Olympic Sports Center in Suzhou, China on Thursday (18/5 ).
