FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Indonesian badminton team has won its first victory at the 2023 Sudirman Cup.
In the first match against Kananda, Kevin Sanjaya managed to win with a crushing score.
Competing at the Shuzou Olympic Sport Center on Monday (5/15/2023), Indonesia won 5-0 against Canada.
Of the five sectors that competed, all Indonesian representatives managed to win with a score of 2-0 or two games in a row.
The struggle of the Indonesian representative was opened with a match in the mixed doubles sector. Where the couple Adnan Maulana / Nita Violina Marwah became a representative.
In this match, Adnan/Nita successfully won two consecutive matches with a score of 22-20 and 21-15 against the Canadian pair, Adam Dong Xing Yu/Josephine Wu.
Entered the second match, where world number two in men’s singles Anthoni Ginting faced Brian Yang.
Ginting also managed to put an end to the resistance of the Canadian representative with the score of 21-17 and 21-16. And that win gave Indonesia a 2-0 lead over Canada.
Start of the third match in the women’s singles sector. Indonesia was represented by Greogoria Mariska Tunjung who faced Talia Ng.
Gregoria also managed to catch up with his colleagues by winning back-to-back games 21-14 and 21-13.
In the fourth match, the Indonesian men’s doubles represented by Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon faced Kevin Lee/Ty Alexander.
