The Sudirman Cup 2023 will be in its 17th edition since its creation in 1989.
This year, the Sudirman Cup which involves international duels will be held in Suzhou, China from May 14-21, 2023.
The draw for the 2023 Sudirman Cup group stage was also conducted on Saturday (25/3/2023) WIB afternoon.
As a result, the Indonesian national team entered Group B of the 2023 Sudirman Cup along with Thailand, Canada and Germany.
The Indonesian badminton team is the third seed and gets a special spot based on the standings.
Defending champions China will face Denmark, Singapore and Egypt in Group A of the 2023 Sudirman Cup.
As for Group C, there are Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, India and Australia. Finally, in group D will face Japan, South Korea, France and England.
In the previous edition, the Indonesian team failed to win after being stopped by Malaysia in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Sudirman Cup.
Jonatan Christie and his colleagues at the time were beaten 2-3 by troops from the neighboring country. For this reason, in the 2023 Sudirman Cup, Indonesia is determined to improve on this record.
