Investors squabble over Jokowi infrastructure project, here’s the evidence

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – One of the activities of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF), was officially closed on Wednesday (6/9/2023). This meeting was used by the government to demonstrate the investment potential of Indonesia and other ASEAN countries.

Deputy Minister of State Affairs (Wamen) Rosan Roeslani explained that during the meeting his party involved several state-owned companies such as Pertamina, PLN, In Journey, BNI, Mind ID and Telkom. They took part in the business matching process, which was one of the programs of the event.

In this business pairing, state-owned enterprises raised several sectors such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and toll road and port infrastructure. He also indicated that several projects that were at the center of the activity also included national strategic projects.


“There are 5 projects involving energy, oil and gas, 9 projects involving toll roads, 5 projects involving ports and 6 projects in the health sector, 3 projects related to fertilizers, 10 projects infrastructure, 9 in tourism and 3 in electric vehicles”, he explained during a press conference.

He said the projects have generated great enthusiasm from investors and other private parties. Indeed, the capacity of the meeting room business matchmaking not enough to welcome investors who wish to come and learn about these projects.

Rosan noted that 185 investors attended the business match. They come from various countries like Saudi Arabia, France, South Korea, Spain, China, Germany, Japan, as well as Canada and England.

Meanwhile, among the various existing projects, Rosan mentioned several projects that have attracted the interest of investors and private companies. These projects are related to green energy, decarbonization and electric vehicle batteries.

“Many also want to participate in digitalization, especially in the potential of our society that has not been touched by formal funding. They see that this potential will be even greater in the future,” he added.

“We hope this can continue going forward.”
