Jokowi suggests Teuku Faizasyah to become Norwegian ambassador

OPEN EYES – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has nominated the spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah, as a candidate for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Rotary to the Kingdom of Norway.

Related to this, Faizasyah confirmed that he was offered by the President to fill the position.

“Please pray. The process is still quite long,” he said as quoted by daei CNBC on Tuesday (12/27/22).

For the record, during the 12th rapipurna meeting for Trial Period II for the 2022-2023 session at DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta last Tuesday (13/12/2022), DPR RI Chairman Puan Maharani confirmed that she had received a letter from Jokowi numbered R56 regarding a request for consideration for LBPP ambassador candidates.

According to Puan, without mentioning the name and country of the recipient, the DPR leadership will immediately notify it at the nearest DPR RI plenary meeting.

After that, the leadership of the RPD RI will entrust Commission I with the task of discussing the presidential decree in accordance with the applicable mechanisms and provisions.

If approved by Commission I of the RPD RI, it will be Faizasyah’s second time as ambassador. Previously, in 2014, the Director General of Information and Public Diplomacy of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs served as Indonesia’s Ambassador to Canada and Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at the Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. .

After that, Faizasyah was appointed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi as an expert in politics, law and security and simultaneously as spokesperson for the Indonesian Foreign Ministry from 2019. One year later , the alumni of Padjadjaran University in Bandung held the position. as Director General of the IDP.
