Indonesia officially holds the presidency of the G20 or the Group of Twenty in 2022.
This is the first time that Indonesia has taken over the presidency or the presidency of the G20 in this multilateral cooperation forum.
The forum, which consists of 19 major countries and the European Union (EU), all have middle to high income classes, from developing to developed nations that contribute 80% of global GDP.
The member countries of this forum are South Africa, United States, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Republic of China, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Italy , Japan, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Mexico, France, RussiaSaudi Arabia, Turkey and one regional organization, namely the European Union.
However, along the way, Indonesia faced multiple crises, one of which was the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

When Indonesia assumes the presidency of the G20, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
The war still continues today. This conflict began in February 2014 after the Revolution of Dignity Ukraineand focused first on the status of Crimea and the part of Donbass, internationally recognized as part of Ukraine.
