Lewis Hamilton complains Mercedes upgrade doesn’t make a big difference

F1 News: Lewis Hamilton says the Mercedes W14 engine upgrade car isn’t making a big difference, even though its performance has improved in recent races.

Lewis Hamilton began to improve his performance by scoring two successive podiums after being on the Canadian GP podium on Sunday (18/6), he finished third behind Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso.

Ever since Mercedes offered their upgrade package at Imola, Hamilton has never failed to finish outside the top four. Interestingly, he was also able to outplay Mercedes teammate George Russell.

Despite receiving positive results, Hamilton feels that the upgrades provided by Mercedes have still not made a significant difference in the improvement.

“I actually don’t feel a significant difference since the start of the year,” Hamilton said, as quoted by Crash’s website.

“There are a few things that look different and that’s definitely an improvement, but there’s just a bit more downforce on the car.”

“But the characteristics of the car are very similar to what we had at the start of the year and so we need…for the future, for next year’s car, you have to do a lot of different things. and change them.” said the Briton.

According to Hamilton, the upgrade is enough to beat the dominance of Red Bull with its flagship driver, Max Verstappen.

“Obviously it’s not a car in terms of car characteristics that will beat Red Bull,” he added.

“But I think we all struggle with the stiffness of our cars. But today the track is bumpy. That’s the one thing I would say is what I like least about this generation. cars, right? Back then, it was fluid on the straights.
