Jakarta, CNNIIndonesia —
A number of entertainers reportedly came to the funeral Queen Elizabeth II which will be held at Westminster Abbey, England, which begins at 11:00 a.m. local time, one of whom is David Attenborough who has a long-standing friendship with the Queen.
David Attenborough is a British broadcaster and historian who has won several awards for lending his voice to BBC television and radio documentaries.
“A nation is in mourning,” Attenborough said moments after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
In 1985, he received the honorary title of Knight of the Queen for his world achievements. Attenborough has been confirmed to attend the funeral.
Not only personalities from England, actresses from Canada Sandra Oh will also be present at the event. The Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy star was accompanied by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
As reported The Independentshis presence is linked to the awarding of the Order of Canada in June 2022 by the Government of Canada.
Besides Oh, there are also other personalities who have received the Order of Canada who will be present at the Queen’s funeral, such as musicians and artists Gregory Charles and Olympic gold medalist Mark Tewksbury.
Gregory Charles is a Quebec musician who has already worked with Celine Dion during her world tour in 2000. His second album, I Think Of You, became one of the best-selling albums in Canada in 2006.
While Marc Tewksbury is a former Canadian swimmer. He is best known for winning a gold medal in the 100 meter backstroke at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He also hosted the first season of How It’s Made, a Canadian documentary series, in 2001.
Besides Tewksbury, a former British racing driver Jackie Stewart also confirmed his presence at the event. He befriended the Queen early in his career.
He considers himself lucky enough to be able to drive a car with Queen Elizabeth II several times. In fact, Stewart said he was a passenger in the car Ratu drove.
“She’s definitely the most amazing woman I’ve ever known,” Stewart said.
