NBA Basketball News: Canadian-blooded basketball player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has started being linked with the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, the Oklahoma City Thunder is unlikely to release one of their team’s best players.
As you know, the Los Angeles Lakers are constantly looking for new players to complete their squad. Several big names have been rumored with the Lakers such as Terry Rozier, Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. Finally, there is one star player name that sticks out in the public eye, namely Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA is the mainstay of Thunder whose performance is very brilliant. Unfortunately, since being brought in from the Los Angeles Clippers several years ago, SGA has never felt competitive with the Thunder.
Many parties then said that Thunder could just rebuild and release SGA. However, this is indeed a very small possibility and almost impossible. Thunder certainly don’t want to let SGA go easily as the player is the team’s most valuable asset. It is very difficult to find star players who are young and have extraordinary individual abilities. So far, SGA has also not shown any issues with Thunder’s internals.
According to basketball observers in the United States, SGA could join the Los Angeles Lakers but not in the near future. It looks like the Oklahoma City Thunder still want to try their luck with the SGA (at least until Chet Holmgren recovers from a leg injury).
