Max Verstappen finishes top of Canadian F1GP

Jakarta: Red Bull Team driver Max Verstappen finished victorious in the Canadian F1GP held in wet and dry conditions at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, on Monday, June 10 early morning WIB. He achieved this positive trend after leading the race in the last 10 laps.

As reported by bbc.com, Verstappen began to show his reigning champion qualities after the safety period that occurred with 11 rounds remaining. At that time, he let Lando Norris battle with Oscar Piastri and let the two Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton battle it out.

Norris, who had led twice in the previous race, still lost because he stopped later than Verstappen. Then he couldn’t do much on the last lap either and had to settle for second.
Russell actually led the early laps because he had the advantage of starting from pole as a polesitter. However, he was only able to pass Hamilton in the final three laps to either get on the final podium or finish third.

Hamilton himself finished fourth or ahead of Piastri. Meanwhile, the Aston Martin land jet driven by Fernando Alonso finished in sixth position.

The result of this race was Verstappen’s sixth victory in nine races he has competed in this season. He has also become stronger at the top of the standings by widening the gap to 56 points with Charles Leclerc as his closest competitor. However, the 2024 F1GP event is still a long way off and anything can still happen.
