Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Minister of Foreign Affairs Malaysia Zambry Abdul Kabir said the issue Burma have been discussed by all ASEAN member countries and at the meeting in Indonesia are trying to reach a common communiqué.
Foreign Minister Zambry issued a statement after becoming coordinator of the 2023 Post-Ministerial Meeting (PMM) with Canada.
“It was discussed by all the members and we left for Indonesia in an effort to save it so that we could come to a common statement,” he said when asked by reporters at the hotel. Shangri-La, Jakarta, Thursday (7/13/2023) evening.
Furthermore, he explained that the issue of the conflict in Myanmar was still at the stage of the discussion process.
Meanwhile, he said ASEAN is still trying to manage it, because everything needs a process.

Previously, he served as the National Coordinator of the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference (PMC) with Canada.
“So, as National Coordinator of ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations, I co-chaired the ASEAN Ministerial Conference this afternoon with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolly,” he said.
He said Malaysia is now asking ASEAN and Canada to expand their collaboration. “Malaysia calls on ASEAN and Canada to expand their trade and investment collaboration, including supporting MSMEs in developing digital transitions and innovation,” he said.
In addition, investments and technology should also help tackle climate change and environmental challenges through clean and renewable energy.
“To promote economic growth, job creation and economic prosperity within the context of the current geopolitical landscape,” he added.
