TANGERANG, KOMPAS – Music group NCT Dream launched Indonesia during a concert at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (03/04/2023). The extraordinary energy of more than 10,000 K-pop viewers greeted the South Korean idol.
The NCT Dream concert titled The Dream Show 2: In a Dream was held from March 4 to March 6, 2023. A total of 37,000 tickets were sold. At 6:30 p.m., the concert began with the silhouettes of some members appearing while other members emerged from inside a display case. NCT members are Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung.
“We want to give love back to Indonesian fans and of course we want to give each other positive energy. We want to deliver amazing works to Indonesian fans and fans around the world,” Renjun said at a press conference.
NCT Dream opened the concert with the title track “Glitch Mode.” All members of this group appear in a futuristic formal style with shades of gray and black. They wore blazers with leather accessories. Shiny black boots complete the look.
The fiery show hosted by Dyandra Global Edutainment continued with performances of “Countdown (3, 2, 1)” and “Stronger.” The shouts of NCT Dream fans, NCTzen, were so thunderous to welcome them that the volume of the music lost. They wave NCT’s neon green Neo Bong lightstick brilliantly.
Jaemin said he was excited to join this world tour as this time all the staff were full. Another reason is that this young man is looking forward to the reaction from the exciting and lovely Indonesian fans.
“Many times we came here and felt good by the enthusiasm of the fans here. That’s the reason why I love Indonesia,” Jaemin said.
After the performance of the first three songs, NCT Dream also reminded fans to keep order. They asked fans packed in front to step back.
Senior Director of Dyandra Global Edutainment Febrina Sibuea, referring to the chaos of the NCT 127 concert last November, guaranteed the safety of holding the NCT Dream concert. More than 1,000 security guards have been deployed. The medical team has also been added.
“For the concert in Indonesia, NCT Dream is bringing a change of concept from the concerts they previously held in South Korea and Japan. They will be bringing this new concept to their next destination country,” Febrina said.

As a model
NCT Dream spectators Friska Azzahra (20) from Depok and Bianca Irama (19) from South Jakarta enthusiastically welcomed the NCT Dream concert. Both girls love NCT Dream because of the musical style and the good image of the members.
They also make NCT Dream staff role models in life. Bianca, for example, was inspired to donate to a fundraising event organized by NCTzen for the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
He did so after being inspired by the same actions as NCT 127’s Mark, Haechan, and Doyoung. “I saw a fundraiser that NCT Dream fans were doing on Twitter. So I contributed 100,000 rupees,” he said.
Meanwhile, Khalila (18) from East Jakarta also likes NCT Dream because the music of NCT Dream, which belongs to the hip-hop genre, is fun and easy on the ear. Also, it was inspired by the hard work of NCT Dream members as K-pop idols.
“I was amazed by their hard work to train constantly. They are also smart and funny so it’s a lot of fun. For me, they are musicians and idols who freed me to be able to see the world outdoors and be happier,” the high school student said.

During a press conference, NCT Dream leader Mark said that they have principles in their work. “The most important thing to work in our music is honesty. In a sense, if for example we write lyrics, we want to put honesty of heart in the lyrics,” he said.
NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology. Consisting of 23 members, this group debuted under the auspices of one of South Korea’s biggest labels, SM Entertainment, in 2016. NCT Dream is a sub-unit of NCT which has seven members.
