Liputan6.com, Jakarta The wildfires that have occurred in Canada have reportedly turned the skies of the capital Ottawa orange. Apparently the skies over New York were also affected and turned dark.
Reported VOA Indonesia, Wednesday (7/6/2023), Not only was New York affected, but poor air quality also occurred in several other states along the eastern seaboard of the United States. The US Environmental Protection Agency issued a severe air quality warning for New England on Tuesday, a day after parts of Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota received warnings similar.
Last week, US officials from other states such as Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania said they were affected by the wildfires.
Wildfires in Canada have occurred in several locations and are still ongoing. In the province of Quebec, there are more than 150 active fires which have forced thousands of evacuations.

Fires are still active in Ontario and Alberta, while dry conditions and high temperatures have contributed to the start of an intense fire season in central Canada. According to the latest information from the Quebec government, 152 fires are currently active in the area. There have been 422 fires in the province so far this year, affecting 226,084 hectares.
The Canadian Environment Agency on Monday (5/6) issued several air quality and haze warnings in Quebec and southeastern Ontario. They urged people in several areas to wear respirators and stay indoors.
