Majalengka – A state plane of the 43rd ASEAN Summit delegation landed smoothly at West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka. The Canadian plane arrived on Tuesday (05/09/2023), around 2:12 p.m. WIB.
BIJB Executive Director General Nuril Huda Mahmudan said the plane first took Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. After dropping off Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the plane immediately flew to Kertajati for an overnight stay.
“Today, in Kertajati, a plane landed and was parked at Kertajati airport, it was a Canadian state plane. It just landed at 2:12 p.m. WIB,” Nuril told detikJabar.
“Each drops off their respective prime minister or president at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Then, once the process is complete, they travel from Jakarta to airports that have been determined as alternatives, including Kertajati. And for Canada, their RON is in Kertajati,” he continued.
The plane carrying Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will spend the night in Kertajati during the 43rd ASEAN Summit to be held from September 5 to 7, 2023. Later, Nuril said, the plane is expected to take off from Kertajati on September 7, 2023 around 06:50 WIB.
“They (the Canadian state plane) returned to Jakarta to pick up the Prime Minister from Kertajati around 6:50 a.m. on the 7th. As it was probably over, they flew directly to Canada,” a- he explained.
During the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Nuril said, up to five planes (up from the previously reported seven planes) were expected to “park” at Kertajati Airport. However, so far only planes from Canada have been confirmed to be staying at the airport.
“Indeed, initially we planned to have several countries. There were about 5 planes that wanted to land in Kertajati, but so far only one has been confirmed and landed,” he said .
