PPI World’s Connect Alumni agreed on form of main platform

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – PPI Dunia ended the Alumni Connect event series with the theme Connect to Contribute held at BNI Pejompongan Tower Grand Ballroom, Jakarta on Saturday (27/5/2023). The event brought together hundreds of former foreign students and national personalities.

This event took place from May 25 to 27 and brought together various parties. During the conference, the international alumni association made three recommendations and appointed a custodian for the creation of the PPI Dunia Alumni forum.

The first recommendation is to agree to form a forum for graduates of foreign students. The second recommendation is to agree that the alumni association organizations abroad will make the alumni forum a big common house. The third recommendation is to appoint a gatekeeper who will take care of the various needs in setting up the alumni associations.

Several global PPI graduates have also been appointed to oversee the event. Among them are Muhammad Dhafi Iskandar (French alumni), James Reinaldo Rumpia (Thai alumni) and Hafizd Alharomain Lubis (Egyptian alumni). Achmad Aditya (Dutch alumnus) became the reader of the conference recommendations.

The PPI Dunia Alumni Connect event was supported and attended by a number of national personalities including Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo and East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak.

BUMN Ministry Human Resources, Technology and Information Deputy Tedi Bharata, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation CEO Salman Subakat and Wahid Foundation Founder Yenny Wahid also attended the panel sessions which occurred.

The objective of Alumni Connect was stated by Hamzah Assuudy Lubis, head of the Alumni Connect organizing committee, who is also deputy coordinator of PPI Dunia. “The former foreign students hope that the alumni forum can strengthen social networks and encourage collaboration for the good of the nation,” he said.
