Andreescu won the 2019 US Open title after defeating Serena Williams on Sunday, September 8 early in the morning at WIB. He won in two matches 6-3 and 7-5.
As a young tennis player, not many people know about Andreescu's journey. In fact, it was Andreescu's second victory against Williams.
Bianca Vanessa Andreescu, usually called Bibi, was born on June 16, 2000, in Ontario, Canada, to Romanian parents, Nicu and Maria Andreescu. They moved to Canada and stayed there for a while because of their work, then returned to their home country.
Andreescu herself started playing tennis at the age of six in Romania. At the age of 11, Andreescu returned to Canada and lived with her two grandmothers. There he joined Canada's national tennis program.
Andreescu's success was built from a young age. At the age of 14, he won Les Petits As in 2014, one of the most prestigious U-14 tournaments in the world.
Apart from this, she also tried women's doubles and partnered with Maria Tanasescu. Her career in the women's doubles business hasn't been too bad either, she has won two women's doubles titles.
Andreescu had to wait two years to win her first senior singles title. In 2016, she won the Gatineau 25 km title in both the women's singles and women's doubles events.
Unfortunately, Andreescu's impressive performances came to a halt in 2018. She suffered a serious back injury that forced her to rest from April 2018 to November 2018.
However, this break has been a blessing for him. In 2019, he won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open, defeating Williams in the final.
