COMPAS.com – The Japanese national team must be ready to smash their record against Canada in a friendly ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The match between Japan and Canada in a series of friendly matches ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar took place at Al-Maktoum, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Thursday (17/11/2022) evening WIB.
Japan watched the friendly game with positive results. They are unbeaten in the last three international matches.
They were also able to start the friendly against Canada well.
Japan under coach Hajime Moriyasu managed to open the scoring after the match had only lasted nine minutes.

The first goal for Japan was scored by 25-year-old Nagoya Grampus winger Yuki Soma

Canada continued to attack until they scored through Steven Vitoria in the 21st minute.
The 1-1 scoreline in the friendly game between Japan and Canada lasted a long time.

Then, Canada managed to score a spectacular goal thanks to Lucas Cavallini’s penalty in added time of the second half, precisely at minute 90+5.
A goal from Lucas Cavallini also secured victory for Canada. They won 2-1.
This is the first victory for Canada after swallowing a defeat and a draw in the two previous friendlies.
Meanwhile, Japan must be ready to crumble to Canada just before they take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Previously, Japan were unbeaten in their last three international matches against Ecuador (0-0), USA (2-0) and South Korea (3-0).
At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Japan joined Group E along with Germany, Costa Rica and Spain.
Japan will start the fight against Germany (23/11) before meeting Costa Rica (27/11) and Spain (2/12) in the last two matches of the group stage.
Meanwhile, Canada (Group F) will have a series of group stages against Belgium (24/11), Croatia (27/11) and Morocco (1/12).
