Rows of candidates for the coaches of the Indonesian national team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia officially hosts the U-17 World Cup 2023. This is the second chance given by FIFA after previously canceling Indonesia to host the U-20 World Cup. The 2023 U-17 World Cup will take place in November-December 2023.

PSSI President Erick Thohir said he was grateful for FIFA’s confidence in Indonesia to host the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

This was immediately declared by Erick Thohir on his Instagram page @erickthohir.

“Thank God..

Indonesia has been trusted by FIFA to host world Cup FIFA U-17 in 2024. Hopefully the preparations will go smoothly and be successful, so that Indonesia can once again be proud and have a good reputation internationally. 🇮🇩❤️”

However, Ketum PSSI has not appointed an official coach for the U-17 national team. In terms of status, Indonesia does not yet have an official U-17 national team roster. Previously, there was the U-16 national team, but it was disbanded as they failed to qualify for the 2023 U-17 Asian Cup.

However, Erick Thohir can consider several names while preparing the Indonesian national team for the U-17 World Cup later. Anybody?

Bima Sakti’s expertise in managing the Indonesian national junior team is beyond doubt. Bima Sakti managed to lead the Indonesia U-16 national team to win the 2022 AFF U-16 Cup and almost led the Indonesia U-17 national team to qualify for the 2023 U-17 Asian Cup.

From experience, Bima Sakti is mature enough to manage the Indonesian U-17 national team. Therefore, he deserves to be a candidate to coach the Indonesia U-17 national team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
