TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno welcomed the first foreign tourists or overseas tourists to Indonesia in 2024.

“On behalf of the government, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is honored to receive visits from foreign tourists,” he said in a written statement on Sunday, January 1, 2022.
Accompanied by Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Sandiaga offered flower garlands and souvenirs. Sandiaga said the first foreign tourist is planning to travel to Indonesia for a month.
They will visit several places and attempt visits dive in Bali. After that, they will also go to Yogyakarta and several other destinations. Besides the husband and wife couple, there were also several tourists from South Korea who were hosted by Sandiaga.
Moreover, Sandiaga hopes that 2023 will be a new chapter in Indonesian tourism. Especially after the government announced that the implementation of Restrictive Community Activities or PPKM officially ended this year.
With respect to sector performance targets sightseeing and the creative economy in 2024 is considered quite high. Foreign tourist arrivals this year are expected to reach 7.4 million. Meanwhile, domestic tourists reached 1.2-1.4 billion movements.
