See another moment Dortmund players kick Davies for concussion

Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has been rushed to hospital with a suspected concussion after being hit in the head by Jude Bellingham in Bayern’s 2-2 draw with hosts Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, local time.

Davies left the pitch in the dying minutes of the first half when Dortmund captain Bellingham’s foot accidentally hit the Canadian’s cheekbone.

Davies, 21, appeared unstable and was taken straight to hospital for examination.

The incident caused debate during and after the game as Bellingham, who had already received a yellow card, was not penalized by referee Deniz Aytekin.

“There was a suspected concussion. It’s not surprising given there was a kick in the face,” said Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann, who insisted Bellingham would have had to be sent off because the rules state that any contact with the head must result in at least a yellow card.

“Four months ago we had a training session. That’s when they told us a free kick is a red card,” Nagelsmann told Sky.

Bellingham told German media he planned to contact Davies to check on his condition.

“Of course I never meant to hurt anyone,” Bellingham said.
