Siberia Film Synopsis: The Ins and Outs of Finding Rare Diamonds

Bandung – American diamond dealer Lucas Hill is on a business trip to Russia to sell a rare, high-value blue diamond to a gangster named Boris Volkov.

However, the diamond is still held by a man named Piotr who lives in Saint Petersburg. Unfortunately, on the day of the transaction, Piotr did not show up and was caught running away with a blue diamond to a place in Siberia.

Knowing that the diamond has not been found, Boris is clearly angry at Lucas for breaking his promise. Boris threatens that if within 24 hours the diamonds are not found, Lucas will be punished. Lucas rushed to Siberia in search of Piotr.

Lucas arrives at the house believed to be Piotr’s stopover point in Mirny, Siberia. Lucas communicates with Gabby, his wife by video call.

But when he got there, he had a problem with two visitors at a cafe. The feud left Lucas beaten to a pulp. But luckily there was a woman named Katya who helped Lucas.

Katya took good care of Lucas until Lucas founded and fell in love with the woman. Problems arise because Lucas already has a wife.

Lucas meets Piotr’s brother, Andrei. According to Andrei, Piotr was selling fake diamonds to a man named Samsonov and hiding the real diamonds. In a fit of rage, Lucas goes to Katya’s house and becomes involved in an extramarital affair.

Lucas then goes hunting with Ivan, Katya’s brother, and Katya’s other brother. This moment earned Lucas the respect of Katya’s brother.

Shortly after, Lucas found real diamonds in a chandelier found in Peter’s apartment in St. Peter’s. Petersburg. Lucas remembers a similar chandelier from Mirny, tells Katya to examine it, but finds a fake diamond.

Lucas and Katya meet Boris, giving him some of the real diamonds. Lucas promised to bring the rest as soon as possible. Boris makes a ritual offer of his place, that after the transaction Boris will provide wives for Lucas, while Lucas will bring Katya for Boris.

Back at the hotel, Lucas encounters FSB agents, who have arrested Samsonov. They told Lucas to sell the fake diamond that Samsonov bought from Piotr to Boris. In exchange, FSB agents will drive Lucas back to America. Lucas realized that if this plan was discovered by Boris, the lives of his wife and lover would be threatened.

The various pressures that Lucas was under were still not as heavy as his feelings which had to choose between Katya and continuing to search for the blue diamond. How will the story continue?

Carrying the thriller genre, the film Siberia hit theaters in July 2018. Actor Keanu Reeves played the lead role in the film directed by Matthew Ross, with many filming locations set in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The original 104-minute film also stars Molly Ringwald, Ana Ularu, and Pasha D. Lychnikoff.
